History

From a small group to a global force

What began as a conversation among passionate roasters has become a movement. The ICPA was built on the conviction that coffee professionals deserve a place to gather, learn, and shape the future of their craft.

2012

A handful of roasters and baristas founded the ICPA in response to a need.

2015

The guild expanded beyond North America, establishing chapters across Europe and Asia.

2017

ICPA launched its first global standards initiative, setting benchmarks for quality and sustainability.

2019

Membership crossed one thousand professionals, solidifying the guild's role in the industry.

2021

The ICPG introduced its education platform, offering courses and certifications to members worldwide.

2024

The guild now represents twenty-five hundred professionals across forty countries and counting.
